Procedures

Every spay/neuter procedure begins with an examination of your pet by a surgeon who can answer any questions you have related to the surgery and/or anesthesia. Our spay-neuter service includes:

  • Safe anesthesia designed to minimize stress in the patient and ensure a smooth recovery.
  • Pain management to pre-operatively block pain and to reduce inflammatory pain post-operatively. We also employ local anesthetics where appropriate.
  • Attention to recovery by skilled veterinary technicians who continuously monitor your pet before, during and after surgery with state-of-the-art equipment. Patients recover on cushioned beds with heated water blankets under them and heated air blankets over them to compensate for the normal heat loss that occurs during surgery.
  • Complimentary extras include cones (sometimes referred to as e-collars, “Elizabethan collars”) and nail trims if desired. Additional paid services include microchipping, umbilical hernia repair and surgery on males with undescended testicles.
