Here for Dogs, Cats, Community
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. As the largest animal welfare organization on the West Coast, we rely on the assistance of caring, hardworking volunteers. Every day more than 1,200 people make an enormous difference in the lives of animals and our community.
We offer a variety of opportunities for animal lovers looking to make a positive impact.
Socialize dogs and cats to make their shelter stays less stressful and to ready them for loving homes.
Care for young kittens or puppies at home until they are ready for adoption at our center.
Take your trained and certified pet to provide the therapeutic value of animals to those in need.
Learn how to trap feral and free-roaming cats for the trap-neuter-return (TNR) program.
Mobile Vaccine Clinic
Volunteer at our at our monthly free vaccines clinic in the Outer Mission and Bay View.
We are always in need of skilled resources: photographers, greeters, gardeners, and laundry helpers.
