Udon is a sweet, smart and tender little guy. He weighs 15 pounds and is around 4 years old. He is very quiet, rarely barks, and is a bit shy at first. He is house trained and I would categorize him as a medium/low energy dog. He would do great in a mellow household. Once he’s had a good 30-45 minute morning walk he’s happy to curl up next to you or find a little pocket of sunshine to sunbath in and nap.
He does great in the car and has done wonderfully on 2.5-6 mile hikes. He also loves the beach, Crissy fields is his favorite! He is treat motivated and knows sit, shake, and come. He gets a bit distracted with things to sniff when we’ve tried playing fetch at the park. If he gets a little restless midday a 10-15 minute game of fetch with his plush toys indoors is enough to get him to settle down.
Udon has had a hard life as a stray dog the first 3 years of his life. He was found in Visalia, skinny and very nervous around people and other dogs. He’s smart and very tender in disposition. In the 6 months that I’ve had him he has been to a dog park or dog friendly beach everyday (sometimes twice a day) and has come a long way with his nervousness. I would love for him to find a loving home where he can keep his owner(s) company and continue to open up. My mothers health has started to decline and my work load has started to increase significantly recently. I’m shifting my schedule to be more available to help take care of my mom. Unfortunately this means I will not have enough time to take care of Udon to the degree that he needs and deserves.
