Meet Murphy

Murphy is a big, sweet, handsome boy who recently relocated from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and he is already proving that sometimes the best second chances come with whiskers, white mittens and a heart full of love.

Murphy is doing beautifully in his foster home, where he has discovered the joys of safe indoor living. Cozy beds? Yes, please. Windows for bird watching and neighborhood supervision? Absolutely. Cuddles, affection, playtime and curious little adventures around the house? Murphy is fully on board.

Murphy is also FIV+, which simply means his immune system appreciates a little extra TLC. Many FIV+ cats live long, happy, normal lives, especially when they are kept indoors, receive regular veterinary care and are surrounded by the kind of love Murphy is very ready to return. Around here, FIV+ does not define Murphy. His sweetness, resilience, affection and excellent big-boy charm do.

But Murphy’s story is also a reminder of what can happen when kind people refuse to look away. He was found injured under a car by a Good Samaritan, who got him emergency medical care for a serious wound. When she could not keep him, she brought him to the West LA shelter, where his care continued. From there, Stray Cat Alliance stepped in and helped bring him to safety. Now, after all those helping hands and generous hearts, Murphy is here in San Francisco looking for the forever home he has always deserved.

Murphy is alive because of teamwork. A village saved this big, cuddly boy, and now he is ready for the next beautiful part of his story: a family of his own. He is loving, affectionate, playful, curious and deeply grateful for the comfort of a safe home.

If you are looking for a sweet survivor with a gentle spirit, a loving heart and a whole village cheering him on, come meet Murphy. His journey brought him all the way to San Francisco, and his happiest chapter may be waiting with you.
