Meet Kingy, a sweet senior gentleman with soulful eyes, a handsome tabby coat and the calm confidence of someone who already knows he is excellent company. He is affectionate, social and very happy to interact with his people, especially if they have come into his room to pay proper attention to him. Kingy enjoys being near his humans as much as possible, and as he gets to know you, he becomes even more cuddly, more engaged and somehow even more charming.

He also has a delightful little voice. Kingy makes the cutest cooing sounds, as if he has developed his own gentle commentary style, and he is quick to respond when his people appear. While he may not be giving long dramatic speeches, he absolutely knows how to make his presence known in the sweetest possible way.

For a 9-year-old gentleman, Kingy is also impressively playful, just in short, sensible spurts that feel age-appropriate and very relatable. He seems to believe in balancing moments of fun with a strong commitment to comfort, companionship and keeping a close watch on the day’s activities from a cozy nearby location.

Like many thoughtful souls, Kingy is not a fan of surprise visitors, especially when announced by the unforgivable offense known as the doorbell. The moment it rings, he is likely to retreat to the far reaches of the closet before anyone has even made it to the door. Delivery person? Irrelevant. No one entering the house? Also irrelevant. Kingy believes in caution first, questions later, and he may take a little extra time before rejoining the scene once the disturbance has passed.

That said, once the world has settled and the vibes are acceptable again, he is right back to being the sweet, affectionate and endearing companion his foster family has come to adore.
