We're Celebrating our 34th year of Holiday Windows!

November 24, 2020-January 3, 2021

Tune in to watch live video of the San Francisco SPCA’s animals every day. Click here to learn more about our adorable dogs and cats and how you can give one of them a forever home.

We wish we could bring our wonderful live animals into Macy’s Union Square today, but this year you will see them on screens throughout the store and here on our website. If there is a dog or cat who would be a perfect fit for your family, please fill out an application. Right now, we are scheduling one-on-one appointments to adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines.

When you visit Macy’s, you may also see a live animal ambassador walking through the aisles offering virtual hugs. Come visit us in the store and check out the live cams every day!

Give today to save a life.

This week’s webcam sponsor is: Dr. Jennifer Scarlett in honor of her dog Louie Scarlett.

If you are interested in sponsoring a week of our Holiday Windows webcams, click here to get in touch.

To see if one of these animals is available for adoption, please go to our Adoptions page where all of our adoptable animals are listed. Please fill out an application if there is a furry friend you’d like to meet!

Did you know that we help nearly three quarters of our adoptable animals overcome medical challenges in our Shelter Medicine department before they can be adopted? Medical care is just one of many ways the SF SPCA has made a difference in the lives of thousands of animals every year for the last 153 years.

As an independent, local nonprofit, we rely on charitable giving to help animals and their people. Donations from people like you ensure animals like those in the windows receive the help they need and the loving homes they deserve. Give today and your gift will be matched.

Holiday Windows Fun Facts

We are excited to be celebrating our 34th year of this time-honored tradition and our 19th year of partnership with Macy’s Union Square!

Macy’s was the first department store to feature Christmas window displays and has been enchanting generations of spectators since the early 1870’s. R.H. Macy began the tradition of animated windows in 1899 at Macy’s original 14th Street location in New York, and started the tradition in San Francisco.
Nearly 10,000 dogs and cats have found new homes from the Holiday Windows.
The Holiday Windows are a time-honored San Francisco tradition noted as one of the “10 Great Places to Press Your Nose Against the Glass.”
