Beyond the Back Yard: Train Your Dog to Listen Anytime, Anywhere!
A 6- week training class designed by Denise Fenzi.
You are a dedicated pet owner who has put considerable time and energy into training your dog. As a result, your dog has a reliable set of behaviors such as sit, down, stay and a recall – under pristine conditions. But now you’re stumped; you’re not too sure how to get those behaviors away from home and off leash – in short; when you really need cooperation!
This class will help you gain cooperation under a range of circumstances, with systematic and specific steps to get you where you want to be.
Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 6 weeks.
Fee: $225 (If your dog was adopted from a 501(c)3 rescue group or shelter, or has taken a class with us in the past year, the fee is $200)
Course prerequisites: Successful completion of a Basic-level training course or equivalent. Dogs must be 1 year of age or older, able to be handled gently by a friendly stranger, and able to work safely around people and other dogs on and off leash. Dogs should have a solid Sit, Stay and "Come", and be able to walk on a loose leash. Fearful dogs or dogs who guard resources will not be a good fit for this class. Please note: class includes occasional handler team-up in pairs with one dog working at a time, so if your dog is okay with a few minutes in a crate, on a tether, on his mat, or in an ex pen, that will be ideal.
