In order to adopt you must be 18 years of age with a government-issued photo ID and proof of address present at the time of the virtual appointment.

We appreciate your interest in a virtual adoption! While you may be ready to take on the responsibilities of caring for a pet, adopters must be 18 years of age or older and present a government issued ID at the time of virtual adoption. In the meantime, please feel free browse the adoptable animals on our website We hope to see you again with the special someone who will help you bring home a new pup or kitty.

Kitten adoptions (5 months of age and under) are currently only offered in-person. Please visit our adoption center at 250 Florida Street, Tuesday-Thursday 1pm-7pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-7pm, Sunday 11am-6pm (Monday closed). If any questions, reach out to us at adoptions@sfspca.org.
