Meet Beau

Beau has already been asked to be braver than any kitten should ever have to be. His start in life has included more than his fair share of medical challenges, and somewhere along the way, Beau lost his sight. But what he absolutely did not lose was his sweetness, his curiosity or his ability to trust. This little boy has come through a difficult beginning with the kindest heart still completely intact.

Beau is newly blind, but blind kittens can do remarkably well once they learn the layout of their world. Cats rely on their hearing, whiskers, sense of smell and incredible adaptability far more than we sometimes realize, and Beau is already showing us that there is so much more to him than what he cannot see. He can learn where his food is, where his favorite bed is and exactly where the person he loves is sitting. Before long, what initially feels like a limitation often simply becomes part of who they are.

After everything Beau has faced, we believe he is finally heading in the right direction medically, and now we would love for the next chapter of his life to be the one he deserved from the beginning. A chapter filled with soft blankets, gentle voices, toys he can hear and people who will celebrate every little victory along the way. He does not need anyone to feel sorry for him. He just needs someone willing to see how extraordinary he already is.

For Beau’s safety, he will need to be an indoor-only cat, where his world can remain predictable and protected. In return, you may get the privilege of watching a kitten who has already overcome so much discover that life can also be safe, happy and full of love. Beau may never see the person who chooses him, but we have a feeling he will know exactly who you are.
