Dr. Melissa Sparks is a graduate of the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She is originally from rural Sonoma County and moved to Santa Cruz for her undergraduate education. She received her Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with a minor in physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her professional interests include low stress handling, behavior medicine, feline medicine, dentistry, surgery, community outreach, shelter medicine, and dermatology.
When not at the clinic her hobbies include swing dancing with her spouse, fiber arts, gaming, and spending time with her two cats, Dee Dee and Sherlock, and her cattle dog Miley, who is retired from agility but still loves to go on walks.
