Tailspin is currently thriving in a foster home and is available to meet through our Virtual Adoption Program! Her adoption fee has been generously sponsored.
Meet Tailspin, an elegant cream-and-chocolate point Siamese mix who came to us from San Francisco Animal Care & Control.
With striking blue eyes, a beautifully patterned face and a tiny tail with its own charming little kink, Tailspin is impossible to forget. Her tail may not have followed the standard assembly instructions, but ordinary was clearly never going to be her style.
Tailspin is being treated for Cryptococcus, a fungal infection affecting her nasal passages and sinuses. She has responded well to treatment, with improvement in both the swelling on her face and her follow-up testing. She will need to continue medication for several more months, along with veterinary exams and periodic bloodwork until testing confirms the infection has fully cleared.
Because we know ongoing medical care can feel like a big commitment, the SF SPCA plans to provide some financial assistance toward Tailspin’s continued care. Our team will be happy to discuss the details with potential adopters so they understand her medical needs and the support that may be available.
Most importantly, Tailspin is so much more than a diagnosis. She is a beautiful cat who has already handled foster care, treatment and change with remarkable resilience. She is ready to leave the uncertainty behind, except perhaps for the adorable twist in her tail, and settle into a home where she can be loved for everything that makes her special.
If you have room in your home and heart for a cat whose journey has required a little extra care, come meet Tailspin. Her road may have had a few unexpected turns, but we are hoping the next one leads straight home.
