Robert Blanding

Board Member

Robert Blanding has recently retired following a career in the investment management industry. He began his career in Chicago from 1971-1977 with Stein Roe and Farnham as a Portfolio Manager. He joined Loomis Sayles & Co. in 1977 and worked there for 40 years before retiring in 2017. He held the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for 22 years from 1995 to 2017. In this capacity, Robert served on boards in the U.S., the U.K., Japan and Singapore. Upon his retirement, Loomis Sayles had grown to become one of the largest global asset management firms with global assets under management of over $250 billion.

Robert and his wife, Gay-Lynn have lived in San Francisco and have both been participants in various board positions in the city and are now pleased to be involved in such a wonderful organization as SFSPCA.
