Find Your Soul Mate at the San Francisco SPCA’s Be Mine Adopt-a-thon Celebration

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

Love is in the air, especially at the San Francisco SPCA’s Third Annual Be Mine Adopt-a-thon celebration February 13th to 16th! The celebration will include fee-waived adoptions all weekend, an open bar cocktail party, tattoos, food trucks, free dental health checks, a book signing, and animal behavior workshops.

The fun begins on Thursday evening, February 13th, with a FREE Be Mine “Cats, Tats & Cocktails” party, 5:00pm - 10:00pm, at the SF SPCA's temporary adoption center (Florida @ 16th Street). Beer, wine, cocktails, and snacks will be complimentary. If you’re hungry, we will have Hella Vegan Eats, Manna Japanese Comfort Food, and Garden Creamery serving up tasty vegetarian bites from their food trucks. During the cocktail party San Francisco's most talented tattoo artists, including DannyBoy Smith from Let It Bleed Tattoo Parlor fame, will be offering their inking services for just $40.

"Last year more than 140 animals found homes at our Be Mind Adopt-a-thon," said Jason Walthall, SF SPCA co-president. "This is one of our favorite celebrations. We hope people from all over San Francisco will join us for the festivities and fall in love at our temporary adoption center!"

The party marches on through the entire weekend. On Saturday, February 15th:

  • 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Free dental checks for pets! Participants will also go home with a free dental kit.
  • 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.: The SF SPCA's Dr. Jeannine Berger, one of only a handful of board-certified veterinary behaviorists in the country, will be reading from her chapter in the new book Decoding Your Dog and signing book copies. Dr. Berger will be joined by a trainer, which will be the purr-fect opportunity to ask behavior questions and solve any training issues.

All events will take place at the SF SPCA's temporary adoption center (Florida @ 16th Street), no pre-registration required.

Adoption center hours: Thursday 1:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Friday 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
