Walk-In Wellness Clinic
The SF SPCA Walk-In Wellness Clinic addresses two of the most common reasons guardians don’t pursue preventative care: Cost and convenience.
The reduced exam fee of $25 includes a limited wellness check with a veterinarian. Clients can access reduced-cost vaccines and preventative medications such as flea and tick control. The first come, first served format allows clients to arrive at their convenience (wait times may be long and availability limited due to number of clients). Free parking is available and the clinic is accessible by multiple forms of public transportation.
Accessible veterinary care is part of the SF SPCA’s Vision 2030, which builds on the organization’s groundbreaking work to end animal abandonment in San Francisco. For many years, shelters were mainly focused on re-homing animals in need of shelter. The work was hugely successful, and homeless animals now represent only four percent of the nation’s cats and dogs. It is now time to shift focus to ensure that pets not only have homes, but also the care they need to be happy and healthy.
The clinic currently operates every Tuesday, 8am – 5pm, at the SF SPCA’s Mission Campus, 250 Florida Street.
