Animal Assisted Therapy Volunteer

Community Cares Volunteer
Community Cat Team
Help trap feral and free roaming cats for the trap-neuter-return (TNR) program. Assist in the intake of cats, train and educate the community on TNR and so much more. Read more about Community/Feral Cats .
Volunteer from your home, where you will care for young kittens or puppies until they are old enough to return to the shelter for adoption, or give a loving, end-of-life home to terminally ill animals. Read more about Foster opportunities .

Front Desk and Administrative Assistance
Assist our staff with greeting clients, paperwork, making calls, data entry, project management and problem solving.
Be on call to help with parties, adopt-a-thons and fundraisers throughout the year.
Short Term Volunteer Opportunities
Done-In-a-Day – special half-day project assignments for corporate groups or clubs often include helping with administrative tasks, painting, deep cleaning, gardening, special projects or events. We provide a tour of our campus and an overview of our mission. Most often done-in-a-day opportunities do not include direct animal care or handling. Project 20 Community Service – individuals working to pay off traffic citations through Project 20 assist us seven days a week with the hundreds of loads of laundry we do at the SF SPCA. If you are interested in community service through Project 20, please call 415-522-3523
