Use Your Skills to Help Animals!
Do you want to use your professional skills to advance animal welfare? Since 1868, the San Francisco SPCA has led San Francisco to its present status as one of the most humane cities in the world. We accomplished this through dedication, innovation and collaboration; and we’re looking to hire bright, passionate people who embrace those values.
Every day the SF SPCA works toward the goal of Vision 2020— our program to end animal abandonment in San Francisco by the year 2020. This would set a new benchmark in the world of animal welfare. No other major city has achieved such a feat.
So join us and put your passion to work. We offer career opportunities from entry level to highly-experienced, including veterinary care, customer service, animal behavior, fundraising, daily animal care, marketing, volunteer management, humane education, maintenance, research, teaching, training and community relations.
Two State-of-the-Art Campuses
The SF SPCA has two locations. Our Mission Campus, home to an innovative animal shelter and state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, is located at 201 Alabama Street in the Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center. Our Pacific Heights Campus, at 2343 Fillmore Street, includes a recently upgraded adoption center and a top-notch veterinary hospital at the Pets Unlimited Care Center. Job postings will specify locations, but you may also want to tell us where you are interested in working in your cover note.
One of the Bay Area’s Best Places to Work
We’re a great place to work. That’s why the San Francisco Business Times named the SF SPCA “One of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area.” We value and depend on the diverse backgrounds, experience, knowledge and talents of our staff members. And we embrace and reflect the ethnic, cultural and lifestyle diversity of our community.
