Lauren Park majored in Psychology at U.C. Berkeley. After college, she did research and clinical work with adolescents diagnosed with ADHD and other conditions. She became interested in veterinary medicine when she was exposed to the emotional and physical benefits provided her client's by their participation in animal assisted therapy. 

She graduated with highest honors from U.C Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and moved to San Diego to complete a Shelter Medicine internship at San Diego Humane Society.  Lauren joined the SF SPCA Shelter Medicine department in 2016. Her career goals are to decrease animal suffering and to promote animal welfare by addressing overpopulation, providing affordable medical care, informing the public about proper pet care, and strengthening the human-animal bond.

Lauren's interests include surgery (orthopedic and soft tissue), population health, and infectious disease. The most rewarding part of her career is providing animals with a second chance to live a healthy, happy, full lives in their adoptive home.  In her free time, she enjoys beer tasting, cooking, and hiking with her husband and two rescued pitbulls.
