Kathy Gervais, DVM

Staff Veterinarian, Pacific Heights Campus

Dr. Gervais is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Veterinary School. She also attained an MA from UC Davis. Dr. Gervais worked as a large animal extern in New Zealand for a few months, and with Angel’s Camp mixed animal practice in the Sierra Foothills for two years.

Dr. Gervais joined Pets Unlimited (now SF SPCA) in 1991.  She is deeply involved with our outreach to PAWS (Pets are Wonderful Support) and San Francisco ACC (Animal Care and Control).  She is also the CVMA’s (California Veterinary Medical Association) disaster preparedness coordinator for San Francisco and is a past CVMA Foundation President.

Her main professional interests are in preventive medicine, zoometrics and keeping the shelter residents healthy and happy. Her personal interests are wildlife photography, travel to all ends of the earth, hiking and cycling. She currently shares her home with former shelter cat “Purrfect Tommy” and co-owns a Corgi-cross named Sherwood.
