Saying "No" to Animal Circus Cruelty

When it comes to protecting circus animals, there’s a lot to be thankful for in California. San Francisco recently became the largest U.S. city to ban exotic animal performances. Oakland and Los Angeles have both banned the bullhook, a weapon used to control circus elephants. With Senate Bill 716, California could soon become the first state in the nation to stop bullhook abuse. Amid growing public concern, Ringling Bros.

As Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus visits the Bay Area in August and September, the San Francisco SPCA asks its supporters to help stop the unquestionable suffering of animals in circuses by refusing to support Ringling Bros. and other traveling animal circuses, and by encouraging others to do the same.
