Prima's Getting Lifesaving Surgery
Thank you for helping this dog and others like her!
Prima is a homeless four-year-old Pomeranian mix who is suffering from a Patent Ductus Arteriosus, a heart problem that prevents her body from getting enough oxygen. When Prima arrived at the shelter she was immediately transferred to the SF SPCA's veterinary hospital because of excessive panting (a side effect of the heart problems she was experiencing).
Without surgery, Prima is not expected to live a full life. With surgery, she's been given a good prognosis for a normal, healthy life without needing any supportive medication.
Because the heart surgery must be performed by a specialist, we needed to raise $3,500 by October 9th to cover the cost. Thanks to your incredible contributions, we exceeded our goal by October 1st!
Every day dogs and cats like Prima need lifesaving medical care before they can find their forever home. Can you help homeless animals like Prima get the urgent care that they need by making a monthly gift?
