Dr. Christina La Cerda was born and raised in Ohio, where she attended Oberlin College and received her BA in Biology. She worked as a research assistant at the Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, OH before moving on to furrier patients. She graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. After a brief stint working in private practice in the Pacific Northwest, she settled in the Bay Area, and has been at the SF SPCA Mission Campus since 2006.
In addition to general practice, Dr. La Cerda enjoys helping our homeless animals with the excellent shelter medicine staff, and finds dentistry fun and interesting. Foxtail retrievals are a favorite part of her daily practice.
Away from work, Dr. La Cerda enjoys traveling, photography, gardening, and cooking, and has an interest in wildlife conservation.
