Thank you for your interest in helping the SF/SPCA celebrate our 20th year of sending dogs and cats home for the holidays. Volunteer shifts are available during Macy’s store hours, every day that the store opens from November 17 through December 26. (Macy’s is closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). As a Red Carpet Crew member, you will work as a team with trained volunteer animal handlers and staff adoption counselors.

Red Carpet Crew – This role is open to members of the public as well as SF/SPCA volunteers (You must be 18 or over, or be accompanied by a guardian).We need up to 6 volunteers per 2 hour shift.  You will be stationed outside of Macy’s, where you help draw attention to the event by mingling with spectators near the Windows, collect donations to the SF/SPCA, and answer inquiries from the public. Staff will check on you periodically to empty donation jars, replenish your supply of flyers, and answer your questions.

Red Carpet Crew Volunteers

1. Check in with staff on duty.
2. Get your name badge.
3. Store any personal items under table in adoption center.
4. Read materials about Holiday Windows.
5. Pick up donations, handouts, and the information sheets about the animals in the windows.

• There will be a lot of questions you cannot answer – don’t worry. Refer people to a more experienced volunteer, staff on duty, our Website, or the shelter.
• Staff is available to help you – send “difficult customers” to an SF/SPCA staff person.
