It was a beautiful, sunny day on the San Francisco bay as we set sail for our 7th Annual Dog Day on the Bay. Hornblower Cruises & Events generously donated their San Francisco Belle for the occasion. All-star chefs prepared a brunch feast for our guests and their pooches. We danced and ate while enjoying the beautiful scenery of downtown San Francisco! Guests enjoyed a rooftop relief area for their furry friends, compliments of Sloat Garden Center. Our Animal Assisted Therapy teams were busy meeting and greeting guests by our Puppy Dog Tails Reading Room.
Special thanks to Hornblower Cruises & Events for their tireless efforts and helping us raise money for our Puppy Dog Tails Reading Program. Another thank you to Wag Hotels for generously sponsoring the reading room aboard the Belle.

It was a hot day at AT&T Park as we welcomed San Francisco Giants fans and their colorful pooches. As the Giants played the Astros, you could spot many of our furry friends dressed as players, vendors and other bright orange costumes in the stands. Although the Giants lost, we still had a blast walking in the pre-game parade around the field and the costume contest, which was won by a unique wiener dog dressed as a giraffe.
Special thank to the San Francisco Giants and our many enthusiastic volunteers for distributing water and treats to spectators. Special shout out to Clifton, who dressed as Big Dog and pumped up the crowd during the costume contest.

We had a First Annual Harvest Howl, sponsored by Treasure Island Wines, benefitting the San Francisco SPCA. Many people bravely ventured out to Treasure Island in the rain to support the SFSPCA and Treasure Island Wines. It was an exciting event that featured a delicious wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres provided by Treasure Island Wines. Dogs came out in their best Halloween costumes and mingled with their furry friends. Our vendors: Jeffrey’s Natural Pet Food, Paw Pets and John Paul Pets, were also on hand to join in on the festivities. We had our dog trainer Dianne, who gave some exciting demos with her dog Truman. We also welcomed Lance and Brock, our Animal Assisted Therapy and adoption dogs! Special thanks to Pet Food Express for sponsoring the event. Thanks again to everyone that came out and we hope to see you next year!

We had a wonderful day on Saturday, October 2nd at Mission Creek Park! Lots of dog lovers came out with their furry friends, who looked adorable in their halloween costumes. We had a doggy agility course which was a huge success! There was also a doggy costume showcase which featured a lobster, jailbait, the cast of Wicked, our own Brock as a surfer and many more! Thank you to Mission Creek Park for allowing us to reach out to our supporters. Looking forward to next year!

On a August 26th, The Westin St Francis rolled out the red carpet for some VIPPS (Very Important Pets and People) to party away the Dogs Days of Summer. Paw-parazzi greeted more than 200 people and their sharply-dressed canine escorts for an evening of music, cocktails and dancing. The benefit celebrated two great causes: the launch of Critter Lovers At Work’s (CLAW’s) 2010 Bark & Whine Ball, a fabulous fundraiser for The SF SPCA, and the 10th Anniversary of the Westin St. Francis Heavenly Bed.
Guests enjoyed hors d’œuvres and cocktails provided by the Westin St. Francis, and sipped wine from Mutt Lynch Winery. Fido Factor.com was on hand with their new website – a hip business review site for all things dog in San Francisco. A photo booth by Tonya Perme Photography captured guests in their best pose. Highlighting the night was a fashion show, spotlighting the canine couture of Cheeko-B Boutique.
Our deepest thanks to The Westin St Francis for a fabulous evening. Special thank you to our two and four legged guests – we’ll see you at CLAW’s 2010 Bark & Whine Ball!
