Shy Dog

Why So Shy?
Basic Training for Shy Dogs

This class is specifically designed to help shy and fearful dogs 5 months of age or older blossom and learn to enjoy training in a social setting. Owners learn how to help their dog become more confident in many different situations through a variety of fun games and exercises as well as teaching basic commands and addressing common behavior problems.

We build confidence for dogs who are:

  • afraid to walk past or go near other dogs
  • afraid/shy of greeting people
  • prone to run away and hide when guests come over
  • scared of loud noises
  • overwhelmed in new environments
  • scared to go on walks
  • fearful of new/strange objects
Please note: We cannot accept dogs with aggressive behavior that has resulted in a bite towards a person or dog. If your dog is reactive (growls, barks, snaps or lunges at other dogs while on leash), please look at our Reactive Rover 1 class instead.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks (first class is an orientation for humans only)
