Civilized Canine

This advanced-level class is for people who want to increase their dogs' obedience skill level and overall training. For graduates of Just the Basics 2 or equivalent, you’ll strengthen your skills as a trainer and improve the reliability of commands previously learned. We'll teach you how to polish your dog's stays and recalls with distraction and work towards off leash heeling. Your dog will learn to listen and respond despite distractions.

Frequency & Duration: 1 hour a week for 6 weeks (Dogs attend all classes)

Course includes: Certificate of Completion

Fee: $150; $130 if dog has completed another SF/SPCA class within the last year.

Class capacity: 10

Location: 243 Alabama Street, Multipurpose Training Room

Course prerequisites: Successful completion of an intermediate-level training course. Dogs must already have a reliable sit, down, stay, come, and be able to walk on a loose leash. Dogs must be able to be handled gently by a friendly stranger and be able work around people and other dogs on leash.
