Dog Training Class Instructors

 

Stacey Campbell
Stacey is a 2006 graduate of the San Francisco Academy of Dog Trainers, where she also earned a training certificate specializing in dog/dog aggression in 2007. She has been teaching a variety of classes for the SF SPCA since 2007, and her specialties include Obedience and Dog Sports classes.

Stacey has two rescue dogs, Penny, a 14 year old beagle mix, and Roo!, a 4 year old Husky mix. Stacey and Roo! compete in Obedience, Rally, and Agility. Roo! is currently ranked as one of the top-five All American Agility dogs in the country, and has qualified to compete at the 2012 AKC Agility Nationals. Roo!'s titles include CD MACH AAD JM MB-RN.

Stacey is an active member of the Mixed Breed Club of California, The Bay Team, and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She also owns Go Fetch Dog Training, which specializes in training dogs with Separation Anxiety.

Brenda Cawley
Brenda graduated from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers with an Honors CTC / Certificate in Training & Counseling. She's also a full member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers and a DogTec certified dog walker.

She has two dogs, Finn is a 14-year-old Lhasa Apso who is hearing impaired but is a scenting powerhouse. He graduated from the Senior Scholars class at the SF SPCA, and Jake is an 8-year-old Border Collie/Shepherd. Jake participates in Musical Canine Freestyle, a dog sport in which training, teamwork, music and movement combine to create an artistic, choreographed performance.

Brenda has been teaching at the SF SPCA since 2011. She is the owner of Dog in Training and her specialties include puppy and adolescent dog training, fearful dogs, and working with families with children and helping people train their dogs in preparation for baby’s arrival.

Lisa Dossey
Lisa has worked in the animal welfare field for over 10 years. She graduated from the San Francisco Dog Trainers Academy, completed their shelter in-house internship program as well as the Curriculum/Public Class Instruction in-house SF SPCA Program. Some of her specialties include senior dogs, puppies/adolescents and on leash dog-dog reactivity.

She had the privilege of being a mom to her Beloved Best Friend, Bones, a Doberman/Black lab, for 12 1/2 amazing years. Bones was a beautiful soul and will always be loved and missed.

Lisa has been teaching at the SF SPCA since 2005. She wrote and introduced the “Rocket Recalls” and “Loose Leash Walking” classes, as well as the Senior Dog Seminar and Senior Scholars classes. The latter two were in honor of Bones.

Lisa is the current owner/proprietor of “Pups at their Peak” dog behavior consulting. She's also an APDT member and a public class instructor at the San Francisco SPCA. Lisa offers private training/private walks/”doggie dhoula” services as well as overnight “stay and train” in the comfort of your home and day training for your dog while you are at work.

She volunteers for San Francisco Animal Care and Control and will be offering training classes for dog volunteers. She will also be participating in the Animal Assisted Therapy program at the SF SPCA.

Michele Garlick
Michele is a Certified K9 Nose Work® Instructor and owner of Whole K9, LLC. She is a graduate of The Marin Humane Society's Canine Behavior Academy and Bob Bailey's Chicken Camps.

Michele's active memberships include the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, The Police and Working K-9 Foundation, and Golden State German Shepherd Rescue. She shares her home in the East Bay with Loic, a 6 year-old German Shepherd.

Michele has been teaching at the SF SPCA for two years and her specialties include K9 Nose Work, Puppy Foundation Skills, Focus Work, Obedience, Clicker Training, and Tracking.

Paul Klein
Paul is a 2001 honors graduate of the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. He's been teaching at the SF SPCA for two years. He has substantial experience with dogs who are born deaf and/or blind, and does most of this work as a public service, free of charge.

Paul is a longtime supporter of various humane causes, and author of frequent articles on matters of interest to many dogs and the occasional human. His essay on domestic violence and cruelty toward animals received a 1998 Fabilli-Hoffer Prize, and his article on training deaf dogs won the 2006 John Fisher Award.

Paul's life is kept orderly by two Border Collie crosses - Sweep and Witty - adopted from shelters. Both dogs hold multiple titles in Chaos and Catastrophe, and are a lot smarter than Paul.

There is nothing more important to Paul than having a supportive relationship with his clients. The days of the grimly condescending trainer are over. Clients deserve a trainer who listens to them, and helps them to build a strong and joyful bond with their dogs. That is Paul’s goal in training.

Amy Kott
Amy graduated with honors from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers in 2007. She is also a DogTec certified dog walker.

She is the guardian of Buster, a 10-year-old Australian Shepherd mix who was born without eyes. She has a particular soft spot for the blind and the lame.

Amy started teaching at the SF SPCA in 2008 and focuses on basic training and manners. She takes a common sense approach to training to help both dogs and humans have their needs met. She seeks to help build (and rebuild) the bonds between dogs and their guardians, and part of her daily work involves finding ways to help keep dogs in their homes.

Kim Moeller
Kim is a graduate of the SF SPCA Academy of Dog Trainers, where she specialized in dog-dog aggression. She's been teaching at the SF SPCA since 1998. She teaches Reactive Rover classes and has written a book, "Reactive Rover," which focuses on managing dog reactivity. Kim is also a PetTech First Aid instructor and a DogTec certified instructor for The Dog Walking Academy, as well as a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She has two Bichons of her own, Willie and Kitty.

Dianne Morey
Dianne has been teaching at the SF SPCA since 2004 and is the owner of DOGMASF, House of Moray Dog Training Club. She holds an honors CTC / Certificate in Training & Counseling from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, as well as a curriculum writing certification and dog aggression certification. Dianne is a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen instructor and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Dianne specializes in Sports Dog Classes.

Dianne is the guardian of three Bearded Collies: True "Panarella's Answered Prayers" (CGC TDI RL1 OAJP OAP NAJ NA RE PT), Roy "Chantillys Royal Motions To Pagoda" (CGC HT PT), and Roosevelt (CGC).

Jeff Murray
Jeff has been teaching at the SF SPCA since 2002, and holds a CTC / Certificate in Training & Counseling from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers. He is also the trainer for the SF SPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy Program which incorporates the MESCAAT (Mastery, Empathy, and Social Conscience through AAT) program. He also works part time at a small dog daycare in the Sunset as well as boarding dogs in his South San Francisco home. He is an evaluator for the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Program and he is the guardian of Sophie, a yellow Labrador and two 17 year old cat sisters.

Lilly Pritchard
Lilly has been teaching at the SF SPCA since 2008. She owns Positive Force Dog Training and specializes in fear and aggression in her private training; she completed an SF SPCA Academy internship in dog-dog aggression.

She also holds an honors CTC / Certificate in Training & Counseling from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers and is a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.

Lilly is the guardian of Sadie, a Norweigian Elkhound and Alaskan Malamute mix.

Erika Slovikoski
Erika has completed the SF SPCA Dog Training Internship Program and graduated from the Canine Behavior Academy. She holds certificates in animal law enforcement, illegal animal fighting, and investigation procedures from the Animal Law Enforcement Training Academy.

She is the guardian of two dogs, Orion and Loba. Orion is a 2.5 year old Cattle/Jack/Schipperke mix who is a graduate of Basic Training 101 and 201, and Tricks class. Loba is a 2.5 year old Sable German Shepherd who is a graduate of Reactive Rover 1 and 2.

Erika has experience in shelter dog enrichment with Give a Dog a Bone and has coached and co-taught Reactive Rover classes. Erika also has experience in shelter management, including behavior evaluations, and dog rescue community work. She teaches SF SPCA volunteer classes and is a volunteer mentor.

Her teaching specialties and interests include working with reactive dogs, reactivity prevention, and basic training.

Shelley Smith
Shelley has been teaching at the SF SPCA since 2005. Her specialties include Basics, Tricks, and Senior Dog Lifestyle Enrichment.

She hold s a CTC / Certificate in Training & Counseling from the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers and is a CPDT / Certified Professional Dog Trainer with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
