San Francisco, CA, Feb 17 2010:
The San Francisco SPCA will participate in Spay Day – an international day of action to promote the spaying and neutering of pets. On Spay Day, the SF/SPCA offers a discounted rate for spay and neuter surgery for only $20.10. In addition, they will provide microchipping and nail trim treatments free of charge to support pet health in the community.
Throughout the day, veterinarians from the Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center will be available to discuss pet health tips.
Nearly 1.5 million pets have been spayed or neutered during Spay Day’s first fifteen years, helping to drive efforts to control pet population. Appointments for this year’s Spay Day have been fully booked.
The San Francisco SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. Since its establishment in 1868, the SF/SPCA has served as a community resource and animal welfare advocate. Today, the SF/SPCA’s offerings include the Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center, Maddie’s Pet Adoption Center, and a variety of educational services.
