In the San Francisco Bay Area, off-leash areas in urban or park settings are typically shared with other people, dogs, horses, and varied wildlife. This short course is designed to help handlers learn how to train and proof behaviors that will enable dogs to behave politely in a multi-use open space area. Focus will be on obedience, environmental and situational awareness, control and management. The first class meeting will be an orientation for guardians only – no dogs please.

Course prerequisites: Successful completion of a Basic-level public training course or equivalent. Dogs must be 5 months of age or older, able to be handled gently by a friendly stranger, and able to work safely around people and other dogs on and off leash. Reactive dogs will not be permitted.
