Change in hours:
Our Spay/Neuter Clinic will be closed on the following dates. On these days, we will be accepting cats as usual during intake hours, but all cats will be held until the next day for surgery.

Tuesday May 13 & Tuesday May 27

The Community Cats Program offers spay/neuter and medical care for feral & free roaming cats. Owned cats, cats slated for adoption and cats not being returned to their colony are not eligible for this program.
We have two options for drop off. No appointment is needed.
On Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (excluding holidays), between 8 am and 9am, cats may be brought to the Feral Cat Program entrance at 220 Florida Street. Cats dropped off during these times will have surgery that day, and be ready for pick-up at 5pm.
Look for the red sign and ring our bell.
Outside of the above hours, feral and free-roaming cats will be accepted through the Spay/Neuter Clinic (201 Alabama St., 2nd floor) 7 days a week, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Surgery days will remain Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Cats taken in outside of regular surgery days will be held until the next surgery day.
Please bring cats in a humane box trap or front loading carrier.
All cats eligible for our program will receive the following, without exception:
Services are offered free of charge to feral & free roaming cats in San Francisco. Donations are always appreciated and will enable us to care for more cats. Cats trapped outside of San Francisco are charged a nominal fee. Please call for details.
The SF SPCA makes the following services available at the request of, and payable by client presenting cat for surgery:
Need to rent a trap? We ask a refundable deposit of $60 per rental. Traps are rented by appointment only. Call us at 415 522-3539 to schedule a rental pick up. Please note, we rent traps exclusively for the purpose of trapping a feral cat to bring directly to our program. Traps will not be rented for trapping wildlife or cats bound for a shelter or animal control facility.
