 Calling all young animal lovers! If you feel a deep connection with animals, this is the camp for you! Learn about animal welfare, behavior, training, and care while giving our shelter animals loving attention. Discover ways you can help animals in your community and beyond.
The SF/SPCA is happy to offer this opportunity to mature, respectful young people. Campers build on their love for animals, and increase their understanding of the responsibilities involved in providing a lifetime of love and care for companion animals. Our camps promote kindness and compassion for all creatures.
Animal Camps combine:
- animal care and behavior learning activities;
- hands-on interactions with cats, kittens, dogs, rabbits, chickens, and other small animals;
- animal welfare team projects;
- craft activities;
- discussions with animal experts from animal welfare agencies including the SF/SPCA and Animal Care & Control
 
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The SF/SPCA is offering nine one-week camp sessions this summer. Sessions are available for children entering grades 1-8 in the Fall of 2008
- Camp sessions run Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm
- The tuition fee for each camp session is $400 with financial aid opportunities available
- Extended care is available from 4:00 to 5:00pm for a weekly rate of $50
- All campers receive a t-shirt and afternoon snack
- The camp environment and curriculum emphasize collaboration and exchange of ideas with fellow campers. The interactive, activity-based learning process helps students make connections and associations between animals and their own life experiences.

APPLICATION PROCESS
SF/SPCA summer camps are very popular. The SF/SPCA uses a lottery to determine enrollment for each camp session. All applications will be screened and entered into the lottery.
- April 5: Applications due by 6:00 pm
- April 19: All campers notified of lottery results
- May 3: Final confirmation of enrollment & payment due
