Anyone interested in applying for a Hearing Dog can contact our program by phone, tdd, fax or e-mail to receive an application in the mail. The applicant then returns the application along with a $20.00 application fee and a copy of their audiogram (hearing test) or a letter from their doctor describing the applicant's hearing loss.

At a later time, one of our staff members will visit the applicant in their home to conduct an interview to discuss all the issues involved with getting a Hearing Dog.

When it's time for the applicant to come to San Francisco for the week-long Placement Training Class, there is a $100 Class Registration Fee payable prior to attending the class. Applicants must pay their own transportation costs from home to San Francisco and back, and pay for their meals during the class. If the applicant will be staying at the motel, the Hearing Dog Program will pay for their lodging at a pre-selected motel used by all classmates.
