SF/SPCA Intermediate Dog Training Classes
SPORTS SAMPLER
Not sure whether you and your dog would prefer Rally or Agility? Then try both in our new Sports Sampler class! You will begin with Rally for the first two sessions of class, which will include learning some of the fun and challenging Rally signs, doing some short courses, and getting an overview of Rally Novice exercises. During the second two weeks, you will begin learning about Agility – you will get an overview of the equipment and do some short courses. Fee is $90.
Course prerequisites: Successul completion of a Basic Training course (or equivalent). Dogs must be at least 6 months old. Dogs should already have a reliable sit, walk well on leash, be able to be handled gently be a friendly stranger, and be able work around people and other dogs on leash.

TRICKS
Uncover your dog's hidden talents with our new Tricks class! You and your dog will learn a variety of fun tricks, including shake, wave, sit pretty, back up, pout, dance, take a bow, spin, play dead, and more! Fee is $100.Course prerequisites: Successul completion of a Basic Training course (or equivalent). Dogs must be at least 6 months old. MIND YOUR MANNERS
This is a 4-week intensive class that will build on your dog's down-stay, sit-stay, wait, leave it, and other important impulse control skills. Fee is $100.Course prerequisites: Successful completion of a Basic-level training course. Dogs should already know sit, down, stay, come, and be able to walk on a loose leash. Dogs must be able to be handled gently by a friendly stranger and be able work around people and other dogs on leash.

THE CIVILIZED CANINE
As Chef Emeril Legasse says, "Let's kick it up a notch!" This intermediate-level class is for people who want to improve their dogs' manners and overall training. We'll even strengthen your skills as a trainer. Add to and improve the reliability of commands learned in basic-level training. We'll teach you how to polish your dog's stays, recalls and heeling. Your dog will learn to listen and respond despite distractions. Course includes homework, handouts and a certificate of completion. Fee is $155.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TEST
If you think that your dog might be a Canine Good Citizen, then come join us for a CGC test and support the SPCA!
Mixed breeds and purebreds are welcome! All dogs must be complete on their vaccinations, including Rabies.
The test will be conducted by an AKC-approved CGC evaluator.
Fee is $15

GROWLY DOG
This course is specifically designed to teach handlers how to manage and treat dogs that are aggressive to other dogs while on-leash. This class is not appropriate for dogs who only exhibit aggression toward other dogs while off-leash, or who exhibit aggression toward people. The course begins in a classroom setting and includes real world "fieldtrips," during which handlers will practice and be coached on implementing techniques in real-life situations. The class meets once a week and attendance at all classes is required. All family members are encouraged to attend.
Fees:
Fee is $300 for a 7 week series.
Course prerequisites: Pre-screening is necessary before acceptance to this class. In order to help us determine whether you and your canine companion will benefit from this class, please fill out and submit the "Growly Dog Questionnaire," which will then be reviewed by the course trainer. If you have not heard from us within 1 week of submitting your questionnaire, please call 522-3509 to ensure that we have received it. | Growly Dog is a 7 WEEK SERIES, meeting once a week for seven weeks. The first class is a MANDATORY, humans-only orientation. Fee is $300.00 |
