SF/SPCA Advanced Dog Training Classes
INTRODUCTION TO RALLY
Rally is a great new sport that is becoming very popular with people and dogs of all ages! It is a unique combination of obedience exercises performed on a course that both dogs and handlers love. Rally emphasizes fun and excitement for the dog/handler team while providing an interactive approach to obedience. The focus is on teamwork, communication and fun, rather than precision. The exercises involved in the course are fun and will help build your skills as a handler and increase your dog's repertoire of behaviors. Praise, encouragement, and continuous communication are permitted in this sport. By the end of this class, you and your dog will know how to perform the 31 exercises for Rally and know how to read and complete a variety of Rally courses. Whether you are interested in competing, or just want to try something new with your dog, this is the sport for you! Come join us and see what all the rage is about! Fee is $180.
Course prerequisites: Successful completion of an Intermediate-level training course, such as Civilized Canine, or similar courses taught through other organizations. AGILITY CLASSES
(Intro and Advanced Beginner)
This fun and fast growing dog sport invites dog/handler teams to negotiate an obstacle course of tunnels, weave poles, an A-frame, an elevated dog walk, a seesaw and a variety of jumps. It is a game of accuracy and speed! Whether you train your dog for competition or just as a fun activity to do together, our agility classes will provide you with good habits and a foundation for both accuracy and speed. Either way, dogs love doing Agility! Dogs enrolled in our agility classes must be well socialized to dogs and people (including strangers), under good off-leash control and be at least one year of age.
