Introduction to K9 Nose Work

Marvel in and learn to work with the extraordinary power of the canine nose! Class 1: Introduction to K9 Nose Work provides an opportunity and outlet for the natural hunting and scenting abilities of all dogs, whether puppies or adults. This class is sure to be loads of fun for both you and your dog! It will help build your dog's confidence and burn tons of mental and physical energy. You'll also learn how to observe and read your dog's body language and behavior for better communication, teamwork, and a strengthening of the bond between handler and dog. High food or toy motivation is beneficial for this class.

Frequency & Duration: 1.5 hours per week for 6 weeks

Class includes: Certificate of Completion

Fees: $200 ($180 if your dog has taken a previous SF SPCA class in the past year)

Class capacity: 6 students

Location: 243 Alabama Street

Course prerequisites: Puppies and dogs in this class must be capable of handling confinement, crated away from their handlers. No obedience necessary. Handlers must bring their own crates. Puppies should be at least 3 months old and have had their first two DHLPP shots. Students must also fill out the Online K9 Nose Work Questionnaire prior to class.
