Do you have a shy dog who needs to learn basic obedience? Bravery Basics for Shy Dogs includes everything covered in our popular Just the Basics class and more, with extra attention paid to the special needs of shy/fearful dogs. The classroom setting will feature a calm ambiance to help ease anxiety and fearfulness, and instructor-led exercises will focus on specific goals with the safety of shy dogs in mind.
This class covers training essentials, including sit, down, stay, recall, leave it, hand targeting, focus/watch and loose-leash walking.
Frequency & Duration: 1 hour per week for 5 weeks. Please note: Students must also attend either the free Shy Dog Seminar on January 7th or a 1-hour Bravery Basics orientation at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th (both without your dogs) to participate in class.

Fees: $195 (If your dog was adopted from a shelter or 501(c)(3) rescue group within the last six months, fee is $175)

Location: 243 Alabama Street
Course prerequisites: Dogs must be 5 months of age or older, up to date on all vaccinations (including rabies), able to be handled gently by a friendly stranger, and able to work safely around people and other dogs on leash. You are highly encouraged to attend our free class, New Dog 101 prior to this class.
