Maddie's Pet Adoption Center

<< previous page

In February 1998, The San Francisco SPCA opened Maddie's Pet Adoption Center, a brand new concept in animal sheltering. Gone are the cages and rows of kennels. At the Maddie Center, every room is like a room at the Ritz.

Dogs on Lassie Lane live in typical San Francisco Victorian and Spanish style apartments. Natural light streams from windows and skylights and toys and TVs offer entertainment and stimulation.

Cats have private condos come equipped with perches for sunning, trees for climbing and couches for snoozing. They also have toys, TVs, aquariums and picture windows so they can watch the birds outside.

All the animals in The Maddie Center are assessed by our expert trainers. And if its warranted, they're given extra socialization and behavior training to prepare them for their new homes.

Since Maddie's Pet Adoption Center opened, it's proved to be an unqualified success. Suddenly, some of our hardest-to-place animals are finding new homes in record time thanks to the Maddie Center's unique new training programs, architectural design and public appeal.

Maddie's Pet Adoption Center is located at 250 Florida Street, right around the corner from our former main entrance at 2500 16th Street. The Center is open 7 days a week from 11AM - 6PM* every day. There's plenty of off-street parking in our parking lot, and we are wheelchair accessible. * SUMMER HOURS: Sat-Wed 11AM-6PM, Thurs-Fri 12PM-7PM, July 1 - September 30
