Every one of the lovable dogs and cats awaiting adoption at The San Francisco SPCA receives safe refuge, extensive medical care and abundant amounts of love.
At our state-of-the-art Maddie's Pet Adoption Center, dogs enjoy spacious "apartments", and cats reside in deluxe kitty "lofts." Dogs head out on daily walks with Dog Walker volunteers, while cats are visited "in house" by Cat Socializer volunteers who brush, pet and play with them.
SF/SPCA Adoption Counselors and Adoption Center staff match potential owners with cats and dogs suitable to their lifestyles. The Society's Adoption Outreach program takes shelter pets to shopping centers, business districts and community events so the animals can be seen by more potential adopters.
Every animal is provided with a comprehensive health care program that includes vaccinations, deworming, and free spay/neuter surgery prior to placement. After placement, the pet receives a 30-day medical assistance plan.
